Catch Up
A long time ago (like 3 weeks), hubs and I went out for his firm’s annual after holiday party, while Uncle Faris kept Z. I finally uploaded the pictures today and thought I would share. I feel like we rarely get dressed up and go out anymore and even more rarely do we photograph the occasion. Granted, we ended up at Five Guys and a movie, but we preferred that to being “out” anyway.
I have to admit it’s hard to leave that sweet face, but he found ways to keep himself occupied!
We also had my aunt and cousin stay with us for a while. It was nice for us and Z to visit with family and they were great company. Good excuse for a dinner party with friends!

The Wiggles
There is a new obsession in the Gax household and that is The Wiggles, yes those jolly Aussie’s have a hold on Z like you wouldn’t believe. Every day he says “I wanna watch Wiggles.” We’ve even learned to leverage it, like eat your dinner theeeen Wiggles.
He literally goes to sleep talking about the Wiggles and wakes up talking about them. He says “I wake up watch wiggles” before he goes to sleep and he exclaims “I watch wiggles!” when he wakes up in the morning. Guys, this is bad.
“I want” has become a staple phrase in our house. It’s “I want this” “I want that,” I usually repeat the request and he replies “yah.” This morning he said “I want some” and pointed to my cereal, but then when I tried to eat his waffle, which he was not interested in, he started whining “Waaaffffle!” I think we may have a problem with sharing.
The other day he did the sweetest thing, he was resting his head on my shoulder after his nap and he just started singing “You are my sunshine” in a low sweet voice. I joined in then I wanted to sing it again and he said “one more time,” put his head back on my shoulder and started singing again. I may or may not have shed an emotional preggo tear… Or two.
It was freezing this weekend, but we managed a little outside time. Of course, mostly to play “sacket-ball” his favorite activity. I couldn’t help but watch the little basketball teams playing at the Y on Saturday and thinking that will be Z one day, dressed in his jersey running around the court fumbling to get the ball into the impossibly high goal. That is, if he doesn’t tire of it before then.
