Review in Pictures

Let’s do another summary post, shall we? Why? Because that’s all I got, that’s why.

We’re doing some fun things as well as some quite boring things. Here’s the recap (mostly of the fun things) in pictures.

Lu’s 2 Year Checkup and Such

Friday, I took Lu in for her 2 year old check up. I didn’t want to ruin her actual birthday or birthday party weekend with a doctor visit so I scheduled it for two weeks later. She always gets a little upset when we pull in to the doctor’s office, and is really skiddish for a while (unlike Z, who either never realized what was happening, or didn’t care), but she did a lot better this time. She only had to have one shot, which was a pleasant surprise!

Thankfully, everything was good. She is 34.5 inches and 27.8 pounds. She actually stood on the scale this time (only after 39 pound Z did it, and she realized it wasn’t going to hurt her in any way).

I have no idea why, but they always start acting like complete fools when I’m trying to have a conversation with the doctor. Usually, someone’s screaming or running around or rolling on the floor. This time they chose to hang off of me, and see who could rip my earrings out of my ears first. Makes a real good impression on the doctor…

I promised them we would go for popsicles after the appointment, so we made a stop for lunch, then hit up our new Steel City Pops.

It was getting dangerously close to naptime by this point, so the popsicles weren’t the only things melting down…

It really didn’t faze me though, maybe because we were outside, or maybe because I have been through this all before, and I know that it’s not the end of the world if my toddler freaks out because I poured out my drink or threw away the rest of her popsicle that she wasn’t interested in 2 seconds prior.

We went home and they both took great naps. I earned that quiet time!

Saturday, we took them to family fun day at the Y, and we had a blast swimming and got more popsicles from the ice cream truck.

I would have to say we earned the quiet time naps brought on Saturday too!

After naps, we went to Barnes and Noble. The kids enjoyed looking at the toys, but then Uncle Faris decided Z needed a little better selection, so we went to Toys R Us and he got him a transformer.

We had a little wait at the restaurant, but Dad had no problem entertaining Z!

The highlight of the weekend was definitely getting Mario Kart 8. Z LOVES it, and he’s already getting so good at it. We spent quite a lot of time playing!

Sunday we grilled out for Dad and Faris again (my mom was in P’cola) and played more MK. It was a great weekend!!

Summer is here!
