Epic Birthday Weekend

We had an epic weekend for many reasons, all of which I will not be going into but let’s just say it was full of fun and family and many blessings all surrounding our sweet 5 YEAR OLD Z!

Nana and Tata arrived on Thursday evening for Z’s birthday. We relaxed, opened presents from them, had dinner, and visited. It was wonderful! Then, on Friday, Mama had some me time (hallelujah! and thank YOU Nana and Tata). The kids had so much fun with Nana and Tata and certainly did not miss me.

Friday night, we stayed in, ate and played and prepared for party day, which also happened to birthday day! We got up, sang, opened more presents and headed to the most fun birthday party we’ve had in a while! Seriously great, and I had to do next to nothing to prepare for it!!

These two were EXCITED!

They bounced and bounced and played tug of war and ran around in their party favors (the capes).

Lulu even had one of her sweet friends there (she’s a sucker for an Auburn boy)

Then we sang and had cake, and we were outta there before 12! Perfect!

After the party, we opened more presents, took naps/had quiet time then went to the pumpkin patch. It was opening day, and let me tell you, the best day to go! We were practically alone and got the BEST pumpkins! But that is coming in a separate post. I told you, epic!

Kite!

I almost forgot to post about our kite! Nana got us this kite for our beach trip last year, and it has been huge hit! This year was no exception.

The Beach House

Me and hubs are researchers, you know people who research things to death before we decide to buy (or rent, as in this case) them (well hubs moreso than me, I tend to be a little, ahem, impulsive). Back in January when we were planning our trips and vacation days for the year, we started researching beach houses. We knew the general area we wanted to be in but went back and forth on being right on the beach, inland, within a “beach community,” etc. etc. and we kept coming back to this house, on stilts, on the beach. When we pulled up, we knew we made the right decision.

We took lots of pictures on our back deck, because, hello, beach!

We’ll always stay close enough to Seaside to be able to hit up the food trucks and toy store there! So fun!

Okay, maybe one more beach post then we’ll be back to regularly scheduled programming.

Beach, Part who knows?

Beach?! Did I go to the beach? Y’all, that is such a distant memory now, I’m not even sure it existed.

I sure do miss these sights though:

We spent one afternoon at the Destin outlets, but somehow spent most of our time at the Disney store, playground, and dancing in the corridors… My, how things have changed.
