So, way back in May, we were chatting with our friends and they mentioned they were planning a Disney trip for December, one thing led to another and next thing we knew we were buying plane tickets to join them. Then, we put our house on the market and it consumed our whole life. Fast forward to last week, and in the midst of home renovation, living with my parents, Thanksgiving, etc., we took off for a trip to the happiest place on Earth! It’s worth mentioning that our friends are Disney experts and basically planned the entire trip. There is NO WAY we would have been able to go and do half of what we did without them! So, let’s start at the beginning.
We worked Monday and Tuesday, then got up on Wednesday and headed to the airport with Dad. The kids were so beyond excited. We’ve been talking about Disney for weeks!
The kids did great on the airplane! By lunchtime we were at our resort!
Instead of waiting there for our bags to arrive, we decided to head straight to Downtown Disney, where we had lunch at Wolfgang Puck and spent the afternoon walking around getting used to the idea that we were at Disney World. This was also where we decided we would wait until the last day to buy anything.
And where we got introduced to the idea of characters and meeting them.
Then we headed back to the room to freshen up and get ready for our dinner. We got our first peek of Epcot when we were bus and monorail hopping to get to the restaurant.
We ended up getting one of the best tables and had a direct view of the castle at Chef Mickey’s! At this point, Lu was a little uncertain about meeting characters. She was on board for meeting the female characters, but not so sure about the males (besides Mickey), but by the end of the week, she loved them all!
All in all, Day 1 was a huge success!
